Welcome to my website. Thanks for visiting.
Please understand that the information in this website is not specific medical advice for you as an individual. Each of us is unique. For the most part our genetic make up determines what the “right” diet is for each of us. Talk to your health care provider about what testing you need to determine what your true risk patterns are before making major changes in your diet. My hope is that your provider is well enough versed in nutrition and genetics to help you match your diet to your body type.
Regardless of your approach to diet, doing regular, moderate exercise is the single most health-improving “preventive” medicine. It costs only time (and a new pair of sneakers now and again) and has very few side effects! Walking a half hour a day and 20 minutes of gentle weight lifting has a significant health benefit.
Meditation has also been shown to have excellent health benefits. It lowers the damaging effects of stress hormones on your arteries and immune system. Beneficial changes in the structure of the brain have been shown to occur with as little as three months of regular meditation practice. Meditation has no negative side effects!
Intermittent fasting has the same healthful benefits as many diet programs including weight loss, reducing insulin resistance, lowering blood sugar and activating beneficial survival genes. Help your brain thrive longer from the NIH
This website is primarily about carbohydrates and the diseases promoted by excess carbohydrates: insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. Americans consume about 700 Calories more energy daily than they did a few decades ago all in the form of carbohydrates (sugars and starches.) The food industry has aggressively engineered food to stimulate our devastating increase in consumption of low quality food, processed food. which, in turn has put in jeopardy the health of over half of all Americans.
Not all carbohydrates are bad for the body. But evidence abounds that reducing non-vegetable carbohydrate intake to very low levels and replacing those calories with “good fat” energy can delay and perhaps reverse:

There are links to the important researchers whose dedication to TRUTH in science is forcing the health care system to re-examine previously widely accepted but inaccurate information and the erroneous guidelines which resulted from it.
- Robert Lustig (Fat Chance) see his video Sugar – The Bitter Truth here
- Gary Taubes (Good Calorie, Bad Calorie and Why We Get Fat and What to do About It) and links to video presentations he has made.
- Peter Atilla (Founding member of NuSi) asks the question “Can we trust anything that we think we know about nutrition?” based on the poor quality of research that has been accepted as science to date. It has often been sponsored by agricultural businesses and the USDA.
- William Davis (Wheat Belly) Introduces the concept that wheat proteins may be toxic to our body and brain (dementia) and other organs. Check out the Wheat Belly blog here.

Aw shucks. Thanks Bob!
Hi, can i have tomatoes, strawberrys? Also can i have lactose free milk?
Tomatoes and Strawberries are low in carbohydrates. Enjoy.
Lactose free milk has the same sugar content as regular milk. The lactose has been “predigested” into glucose and galactose – 2 simpler sugar molecules.
